Aka Gin, Juno, Miss Gin. Juniper Berries are actually the female seed cones and come from the Cypress family. Juniper can be found in the cool Artic Mountains to North America, Europe and the Atlas Mountains of Africa. A strong woody shrub that has been used to make Trenails for wooden ship building in Scandinavia and the berries as a main ingredient to flavour Gin and Farmhouse Ales.
Add Juniper to sachets to guard against evil and negativity in general as it has great protective uses and is said to break hexes. Also ideal for healing incenses, blends and sachets. Juniper is used to honour the Norse Gods and the season of winter.
