The Book of Shadows does not have a long history as most magic and lore was passed on throughout the centuries by word and mouth, through family, friends and covens. This name derives from the concept that although some Witches kept their Magickal practices recorded in diary’s or books, they had to remain hidden from those who would have persecuted them, thus kept “in the shadows.” Nowadays as Witchcraft is more accepted, the Book of Shadows is a valuable tool. A place to record your own personal journey through the Craft, whether it be spells and rituals to dreams and meditations.
We also stock the Perfectly Imperfect range of Journals and Book of Shadows by Sage. These books can also be viewed at our Hemlock House shop in Glorit, New Zealand.
