Chalices

A sacred vessel used to hold consecrated wine, water and ale, the Chalice is also called a cup or goblet. Symbolic of the Goddess, the Chalice is also associated with fertility, the womb, emotions, intuition, love and the subconscious mind. They can be made from various metals or woods. They feature in the "Cakes and Wine" ceremony and are an ideal addition to any altar, whether for the Solitary or Coven. Traditionally they were placed on the left side of the altar to represent the Goddess and the feminine energies.
